Personnel Decisions International expands its operations in Asia
PDI offers full array of management consulting services to clients in Greater China
MINNEAPOLIS - (January 10, 2000) - Personnel Decisions International (PDI), a global management consulting firm headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., today announced the formation of PDI Greater China Corporation, with headquarters in Hong Kong. PDI opened the new subsidiary in response to the growing demand for PDI products and services by international and local clients in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the People's Republic of China.
"Rapid economic development of the People's Republic of China and the economic recovery of the rest of Asia have increased the need for strategic management solutions to business challenges in this area," said Ken Hedberg, president and COO of PDI. "The formation of PDI Greater China Corporation is a part of our effort to provide seamless support of our clients' global operations."
Services provided by PDI Greater China Corporation include multinational team building, recruitment, intercultural mediation, leadership assessment, merger and acquisition management, strategic performance modeling, and training and development. Services and products are available in English, Cantonese and Mandarin languages.
Local presence allows PDI to provide its international clients in the region with insight into cultural and operating differences of the Asian market. "In the global economy, different business perceptions and clashing cultural values often result in communication failure, making it difficult to close a deal or create a motivated, high-achieving local workforce," said Hedberg. Dr. William H. Mobley, Managing Director of Personnel Decisions International Global Research Consortia, Ltd. (GRC), has been named CEO of PDI Greater China Corporation and managing director of the PDI Hong Kong office. In addition to leading PDI's efforts in Greater China, Mobley will continue to provide management and organizational research and consulting services for multinational firms doing business throughout Asia and elsewhere in the world through the Global Research Consortia.
