Lowell Hellervik Recognized for Contributions to Psychology Field

Minneapolis - (April 30, 1999) - Lowell Hellervik, Ph.D., was awarded the Distinguished Professional Contributions Award by the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychologists (SIOP) at its annual conference Friday, April 30, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Hellervik is president and CEO of Personnel Decisions International (PDI), a Minneapolis-based management and human resources consulting firm.

"This is one of the highest and most prestigious awards the society presents to its practitioners," says Francis J. Yammarino, chair of the SIOP Awards Committee. "It recognizes Dr. Hellervik's outstanding contributions to the field of industrial organizational psychology."

The award is given annually to an individual who has developed, refined and implemented practices, procedures and methods that have had a major impact on both people in organizational settings and the profession of industrial and organizational psychology. The contributions of the individual help advance the profession by increasing the effectiveness of industrial and organizational psychologists working in business, industry, government and other organizational settings.

Hellervik, a licensed consulting psychologist, is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Minnesota Psychological Association, the Twin Cities Human Resource Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society of Training and Development. He also serves on the boards of several organizations including the U of M Foundation and Bondhus Corporation.
