Performance Quotient®
Provides the Most Accurate Measure of Performance
MINNEAPOLIS (Jun. 03, 2002) Personnel Decisions International (PDI) today introduced Performance Quotient® , a new performance measurement instrument that provides a more precise, valid measurement of managerial performance than any other product on the market.
"When organizations make decisions about people, such as compensation, identification of high potential or downsizing, they need accurate information about people’s performance because mistakes can be very costly,” said Dianne Nilsen, Ph.D., director for PDI. "Numerical rating systems are influenced by things other than true performance, such as organizational politics and personal relationships. Performance Quotient® is the only product that provides unbiased, accurate, valid information about performance.”
Performance Quotient® uses a unique rating system called Computerized Adaptive Rating Scale technology. Rather than asking raters to assign a number to a person’s performance, PQ provides two sentences about how a person may behave, and asks the rater to choose the one that most closely represents the performance they have observed. Based on that response, the system presents the rater with another set of questions to further pinpoint the person's performance level in that area. This approach focuses raters on behaviors rather than numbers, reduces subjectivity and decreases rater error by 25 percent.
